Funded by the U.S. Department of State and engineered by the Institute of International Education, the Humphrey Fellowship Program decorates former U.S. Vice President and ardent civil and human rights fighter, Hubert H. Humphrey.
A recipient of funding as a Fulbright Exchange Activity, the program exists to instill in Fellows, skills needed to scale as global leaders and to solve regional problems. The program fortifies fellows with professional knowledge and opens Fellows up to global networking opportunities.
The program awards close to 200 fully-funded fellowships to eligible candidates across the world.
Graduate Degree Program
To apply, students must:
- Have an undergraduate degree.
- Possess a minimum of 5 years full-time, professional experience.
- Have little or no experience in the U.S.A.
- Show proven record of public service.
- Be proficient in English Language.
The Humphrey Fellowship Program spans a broad range of program fields.
Courses available under its Human and Institutional Capacity field are Economic Development, Finance and Banking, Public Policy Analysis and Public administration, Technology Policy and Management, and Human Resource Management.
Courses available under its Rights and Freedoms Field are Communications and Journalism, International Religious Freedom, Law and Human Rights, and Trafficking in Persons Policy and Prevention.
Courses available under its Sustainable Lands Field are Agricultural and Rural Development, Natural Resources, Environmental, and Climate Change, and Urban and Regional Planning.
The Program covers payment of tuition and fees at Host University, a living allowance, accident/sickness insurance, book allowance, air travel, and a professional development stipend.
